My name is Dave Lorenzo and a few years ago a group of lawyers came to me and asked me to help them build their law firm the way I built my consulting business. I told them I didn’t know anything about the law but after doing some research I did know:

  • Why clients work with some lawyers rather than others
  • How clients choose who they work with
  • When to approach a client about their legal services
  • Who to speak with in a big company about securing legal work
  • What information a client needs to make a decision when they hire a lawyer
  • Where to find more clients like your best clients

The lawyers I shared this information with were amazed that I could come up with such an accurate portrait of their industry from just a few months of research.

They were even more amazed when together we developed a law firm marketing system that actually worked.

That was a couple of years ago and we have refined our law firm marketing system several times since those early days. Although many things have changed, two things remains the same:

1). Lawyers still need clients

2). They still do not teach law firm marketing in law school
